05. Teclo
Written by Polly Jean Harvey
Guitar, Organ, Piano, Chimes, Bell, Vocal - Polly Jean Harvey
Drums - John Parish
Found on:
To Bring You My Love
According to the pjharvey.net FAQ, "The song 'Teclo' was inspired by a song called 'Teclo's Death' on the soundtrack scored by Ennio Morricone for the movie Guns For San Sebastian. Polly heard the song and found it evocative."
The rhythm of "Teclo"'s chorus is borrowed from Captain Beefheart's "Her eyes are a blue million miles" (say that title and then "Let me ride on his grace for awhile").

Long goes the night
Longer the day
Teclo your death
Will send me to my grave
I learned to beg
I learned to pray
Send me his love
Send him to me again
Let me ride
Let me ride
Let me ride on his grace for a while
Let me ride
Let me ride
Just let me ride on his grace for a while
Long goes the night
Longer the day
Teclo your death
Will send me to my grave
Let me ride
Let me ride
Just let me ride on his grace for a while
Let me ride
Let me ride
Just let me ride on your grace for a while
Just let me ride
