Song trivia:

The Life And Death Of Mr. Badmouth-
It is said this song was inspired by Vincent Gallo (musician/actor), a friend of Polly Harvey's and perhaps a former lover.

The Slow Drug-
This song was written during the Is This Desire? era.

No Child Of Mine-
This song is the ending of a song on Marianne Faithfull's Before The Poison. Polly liked it so much that when it got cut from Faithfull's album, she put it on her own.

This song was inspired by the film Pretty Baby.

It's You-
"In the middle of 'It's You,'" she says, "when it suddenly goes to the different chords and the autoharps and piano come in. The song shifts from those leaden-hearted baritone sounds. It cracks my heart open every time I hear it."
