Song trivia:

Sheela-Na-Gig-
The Sheela-Na-Gig is an old religious figure - banned in Victorian times - that depicted a woman pulling apart her genital lips and laughing. An exhibitionist is someone who chronically exposes their genitals in public.

The line "Gonna wash that man right out of my hair" is from the showtune song "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair" ('South Pacific').

"Dirty pillows" is what Carrie called her breasts in the movie Carrie.

"I actually think she's a bit of an old tart, now. I'm not going to play her again, I've had enough of her. I think of songs like they're all different people, because that's how they feel, and some of them I really like. 'Dress,' I find very unaffected and simple, and I like that. But I'm not going to play 'Sheela.' I've had enough of people shouting it out."
-PJ Harvey, Alt. Press 1995

Joe-
Song is said to be patterned after a Jack Kerouac poem.
