I thought it was a bit lackluster, at least compared to, say, the French program performance of this song she did a few weeks back. I didn't like the sound of the Moog foot-keyboard doodad, for one thing. Sometimes it sounds good and really adds to the various songs she uses it for in live performance, and sometimes it seems as if it's tuned wrong or something and comes off sounding stilted or not very mellifluous. It struck me as the latter this time around. I'm not sure what the problem is.. varying room acoustics? Polly's playing of it (the challenge of coordinating her vocals and string strumming along with it)? Besides that, her vocals were a bit tame this time out too. Or maybe I've grown too familiar with the performance of this song. Not bad, just not my favorite live example of this song. Maybe I'll feel differently when I re-watch it later.
Oh, I did notice that her black dress had lots of glittering sparkly-spangle pieces adorning the bottom half, which I guess is a new fashion development. It turned her formerly sparse smock into something more. maybe even beautiful.

I thought she looked great! I love how she looks sort of like a stylish bag-lady with all those layers and little trinkets adorning her... I always wonder what the non-pj people watching a performance like that think. I bet it came as a bit of a shock if you don't follow her career and only know her as the 90s-man-hating-rock-queen...
